I grew up in East Tennessee and spent much of my time either joining in with my brothers to help my father work the farm or hiking and camping in the surrounding mountains. Like many, I took the rivers and mountains for granted and left my home in search for job opportunities in larger towns and cities. After spending much of the last 30 years living in other parts of the country, my wife and I made a decision to move back to East Tennessee. It was then that we became completely taken by the beauty of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. It was almost as if the mountains were calling us home.
I don't really have a favorite genre or subject, and I seldom have a plan other than make a point to seek out what Mother Nature wants to show me. I have learned that if I am patient and wait on her, she will reveal herself in the most spectacular ways!
